Do you "trust" certain gas stations over others?

I know "gas is gas", but I think I got bit by the cheapest option bug. The other day, I went to an independent station for my 93 since it was next door to a mobil which was a few cents more per gallon. Its just a habit to go to the cheaper places, I could care less about the .50 difference between the 2. Anyways, the truck felt like a$$-thank goodness I rarely fill up the tank completely, and burned it out quickly. I now only go to the "big dawgs" like Chevron and Mobil, as I think they would have a much more stringent QC protocol in place than some podunk ma and pa convenience store. In FL, another big concern is water in the underground tanks. Do you guys have any similar reservations?

Same reservations, but it's still possible to get bad gas from the big dawgs from time to time. I usually only put 10 or 15 dollars in at a time, that way if I do get some bad gas at least it's not a full tank of it.

Actually, gas is gas. When the distributors order it from texas or east coast, its put in a pipline and shipped. At that same moment the distributor pulls it from the pipeline. Not same gas he ordered at all, just gas. It's either 93 or 89. Mid grades are mixed at dispenser.

The problem is at the stations and their tanks. Crud in the tank is the culprit for bad gas.

Avoiding filling up after truck unloads gas is good idea. High volume stations are the ones to go to, as long as they are corporate owned and popular in the area. Mom and pop owned are not good. Some people have OLD tanks and their tanks are never cleaned, or leak (water).

You know, I've watched t.t.'s unload at a small country store, then drive DIRECTLY across to the BP and unload.

It's all about the condition of the STORE'S tank.

i only use 93 octane and up, my truck runs like @ss w/ 92 octane.

if its 93 it's either Mobil or Amoco (BP)

or 94 Sunoco.

I only go to shell, it seems to be pretty close in price as the other stuff but i get 5 percent of shell gas, I use that shell mastercard.
Also, on the first 60 days u get 10 percent of shell gas. Get that if u wana save some money and can handle a credit card, lol.

I try to only go to Sunoco, if I can help it. I use no less than 93 in anything I put gas in, even the lawn mower gets the good stuff. lol

YES I DO

I was only using 2 Amoco's when I first got my L.
After a few month's, I got a bad tank of gas I guess.
I put gas in, went to the track, the filter clogged and it detonated and melted 3 plugs in a matter of seconds.
NEVER PUT GAS IN MY LIGHTNING AGAIN FROM EITHER AMOCO

NOW I """ONLY""" use Ultra 94 (Local Sunoco Station I trust).
I never fill up away from home and if I must, it's always a crap shoot

I wish we had Sunoco stations around here. Every one I've ever been to had 100 octane.

I wish we had 93 out west, best I can find is 91 lol, but I always use shell, mobil, or AMPM, for my tuck, for my boat I have to use 76 (because its MTBE free or some crap) to get on some of the damn restricted lakes around here.....
