point of clarification

The alignment specs were posted shortly after I joined this fine forum, were saved in the 'truck tech' folder, and shared as needed. Henceforth, please don't consider the specs 'mine.'

FWIW, I've used the Lightning Preferred specs in conjunction with Herb's washers and cam bolts on two different daily driven Lightnings for a combined total of four years. Never had the slightest bit of abnormal tire wear.

Perhaps the environment for which you subject your vehicle could have something to do with it? no flame, just curious.

Cliff,

Did you get my email RE the harness bar?

Bob

Sorry Bob, no disrespect to you intended, I was hoping you would come on and tell me what you thought of the specs at which my truck was aligned since i didn't think they were that close to what you sent me. Before I left the day I had it aligned I asked the tech since his numbers were not that close to what i brought him and he said that the specs at which he aligned it to should be fine, but now I am pissed that someone in a business that i am not a part of would lie to me just so that he would not have to work so hard to do something right. This why i hate having to have someone i don't know do something for me that i know nothing about. If I would have been able to do my own alignment i would have worked on it for as long as it took, hours or days even, until the specs where EXACTLY ON THE MONEY. As a side note my truck has not been dropped any front or back and i keep the tires inflated to 32 psi cold, after sitting over night and then inflating with the compressor in my garage.

Thanx,
Bill

If your truck is not dropped they should be able to get the align specs to almost anything from +1 camber to -2 camber. There is that much adjustment in the slots.Depending on how you drive Speedy is rite on the money for specs. And I am surprized the truck does not pull with that much stager in it.It NEEDS to be run straight up for the best handling. Before I bought the equipment to do my own alignment I made the shop run the spec straight up and checked it while I was there.I did not care if they would warranty the align or not[most time they would not]I told them IF they did it MY way I did not expect a warranty. But it had to be rite!
One thing no one is thinking of is when was the machince last ck'ed for calibration?Since I am the only one who runs my machine I KNOW it is rite and check the calibration when I think it is offor atleast after every 10 alignments.I had an alignment done under warranty at a local ford dealer and their machine was off over .5 inch on toe.I told them this and they still have not fixed it.And that was over 2 years ago!!!Stan
