toneau cover

anyone ever put one of these on the lightning? i bought mine with it but they put the rails on but not the cover. i just picked up the cover today. it looks like it just slides along the outside of the rails but the straps dont match up and it slouches in the middle. any idea?

You also need the two bars that go across the truck. They bow up to keep the cover tight.

You're right, it just slides in the grooves. Put the front of the bed on first and then do the sides and back.

Besides the stealer, where could I pickup a OEM snapless factory cover?

I think the prices have actually come down quite a bit on the factory tonneau kit.

a customer here recently priced one and I think it was around $350 or so for everything (rails, bows, cover).

If I remember correctly, at one time it was over $450-500 bucks!

later,
chris

Hasn't it been a $350 option on the L's for a few years now?

I was the one that paid the piper on it from the dealer. I had to have it as no other cover looks right on these trucks. I had a snap cover on the old Lightning and never cared for it.. Dad has a hard cover on his, and it is worthless, heavy, impracticle, and looks silly. Pro-sport makes the best hard cover... if it was my last choice in the world.

Have you checked out the hard covers made by ARE???? They look pretty good, and have the best support/opener and a locking mechanism/inside release. I want one bad... but have to wait awhile.
