Ok. According to the instructions:
The snubber should be under the front spring eye. Mine are slid up as far as they can go due to the bracket holding the leafs together and the snubber is just behind the eye, which is ok.
They come with 6 shims (2) 1/32", (2) 1/16", and (2) 1/8". The final distances for snubbers should be 1/2" driver's side, 3/8" pass. side. I started with small and medium shim on driver's side and too much gap. Small and large shim on pass. side and it is fine. Took the medium shim out of driver's side and it's too close now...from one extrmeme to the other...have done it twice and driven the truck in between. If the distance was that of the snubber that I put back in, it would be perfect. However, it goes from too small of a gap to too large.
Should I not worry about and let it go? It will be impossible to get them dead on. There was NO axle wrap when they were very close, but then again, the ride was harsh too...almost like they are constantly preloaded.

Mine have barely 1\2" clearance on each side that's the best I can do, no shims just using the bolts. They run a bit shorter in length than the other brands but you should be fine.
I have cut a couple 1.8 60' with them and NO wheel hop so they are working.
Mine haven't moved at all.

If I am not mistaken its 3/8" on the drivers side and 1/2" on the passengers side. I had to use all 3 shims on each side. Using all the shims on the drivers side gave me 3/8" clearance. Then for the passenger side I used all 3 shimd again got my 3/8" clearance then cut of the 1st step on the snubber to gibe me the extra clearance and it came to about 1/2"
Yes the Lakewoods are abit shorter. I ended up placing mine right before the spring eyes.
If the clearance keeps changing it may have something to do with the ground and it not being level. Try and park in the exact same place when checking them. Maybe mark the ground? Or do it in you garage?
I am gonna go take some pics of mine. I have to check them anyway since I never drove arond then checked them again.
I will post the pics in a bit.

Yup I just read the instructions and it says 1/2" on the right side and 3/8" on the left side so oyu have them reversed in your post.
Right side = passenger side = 1/2"
Left side = drivers side = 3/8"
Here are some pictures I took. I am still not sure if I am going to trim the snubbers a tiny bit at an angle to help it make contact all at once. I may just leave it like this . I'll see.

DRIVERS SIDE...

it should be placed a little further back from the eye itself. and i cut like two of the sections off the snubber. two shims in each side i believe. left me with about 1/2 inch on both sides.
