Question Mr. Alternator 200 amp alternator

I just got my 200 amp alternator from Mr. Alternator. I just ordered the regular one no powdercoat or anything. My lights would dim sometimes at idle is why I picked this up.
The only external difference I see between the stock 130 amp unit and the 200 amp mr. alternator unit is the size of the pulley. The stock alternator has a 2.5" pulley and the Mr. alternator has a 2 1/8th inch pulley. The mr. alternator pulley also sticks out an aditional 1/4th inch further than the stock pulley.
For those who know will this cause any problems?

Check...

Check and make sure the pulley has the right number of ribs for your accessory belt.

No external differences, but if you look inside, the wires should be slightly larger...

I love mine.

The inside wires look exactly the same as stock. The pulley is exactly 3/8ths of an inch smaller in diameter and sticks out exactly 0.20 inches further than stock. I am almost 100% positive these are the only changes over stock. They are getting the extra voltage from spinning the alternator faster. I wonder if this means this alternator will last less time than the stock one.

BTW, it is installed already.

Well, I installed the alternator today. I figured the pulley must be correctly installed. Mr. Alternator must have the factory specs on the alternator so he can assemble these correctly, or so I thought. I shredded the accessory belt today on the drive home. I guess I'll contact them tomorrow and see if they will replace the $40 belt and send me an alternator with a pulley which is installed correctly.

The black pulley is stock and the gold is Mr. Alternator. The alternator cost around $240 w/o exchange.

Your pulley looks powdercoated or something. I'll bet it is the same thing. It does look like the pulley on mine is turned around. Neither of our pullies are stting as close to the housing as they should.

Like you said... you would think this is the first thing they would check.
Did they agree to refund you for your belt, I just sent them an email about mine.

Here is my complete email and their response. I did make a mistake on my email. The pulley sticks out 1/5th of an inch further than stock not 3/8ths of an inch. 1/5th of an inch is still too far.
If they decide not to replace the belt it isn't too big of a deal, even though I think they should...I stuck the belt in the box I'm sending back to them.

email,
We will take care of it . UPS should be there tomorrow to pick up the alternator and we will get it back to you ASAP .
Sorry for the inconvenience .

Subject: wrong alternator pulley??? shredded my accessory belt

I ordered an alter from you guys near the end of september and received it a couple of weeks ago. I installed it today and drove my truck approximately 65 miles. The accessory belt shredded sometime during the drive. I measured the pulley and it sticks out 3/8ths inch further than the stock pulley. I feel this contributed to the shredded belt.
I need to get this fixed ASAP. I feel your company should pay for a new accessory belt for my truck. The failure of the belt is directly due to the pulley installed on your alternator. They are expensive, around $40. I also need your company to send a truck to pick up this alternator so you can replace it.
You probably have my information in your computer
