Service engine soon light

Light just came on. I was at the track this weekend and it read a lean code when I was idle. JLP reset the code and reburnt the chip to add some more fuel. The light just came back on.

I have a chip, intake, and 4lb pulley. It came on after I put the pulley on because there was a hose disconnected. I reconnected it, reset the cpu and it was fine until I got to the track one week later. The only thing I added was an oil breather cap at the track.

Also, When in park the idle is a little irractic. every few seconds/minutes it goes from around 500 rpm up to 1000 rpm and back down

Now the light is back on? Should I change my fuel filter. Not sure what the code is. Where do I get the equipment so I can read codes?

Thanks

a certain gen 2..i wonder which one that is! lol

anyway - about your lean code - it could be a bad 02 sensor. when i installed my headers we broke the wire on the bank 1 (passenger side) 02 sensor and that brought up a lean code. after it was replaced all was fine. (THANK YOU JDM and Captain O. FOR HELPING ME OUT!!!!!!!!) may want to check that out.

also - when i put my breather cap on it triggered the SES light as well. i was told that not all engines seal properly when being broken in and that causes the light to come on. i had JDM clear it for me way back when i first got it and they told me to put it back on after i change the oil again. well i did, and the stupid light came back on. i took it back to JDM and they cleared it for me again. since then i just kept it off and haven't had the light on since. chances are that that is the problem. good luck with it and let us know what the problem was once you find out!

JDM RULES! i appreciate the help i got this weekend!!! i couldn't have raced without you guys!

I'm sure they sell it (or you can order one online). It's a scan tool, I think if you do a you can find a thread on it... I'm sure it's not cheap.
