Solution for PSP FAST Air and JLP Ram Air

I don't know about everyone else who has these kits, but i continously found leaves and small twigs in my air box after installing the PSP FAST air kit (not a complaint in anyway - I love the kit and recommend it to everyone). But the only downsides are that the boot is unsightly (i think anyway) and the leaves that find they're way in there....so i decided to hit up the local HD for a few household items to fix the problem....take a look at the before and after pix, the mesh i found (which is actually Stainless Steel Gutter guard) almost matches my SS speed grill exactly....however, it only cost $2.50, not $220...go figure...a few stainless screws and she was done.....i think it looks pretty good....let me know what you think....

I was thinking of doing the same thing for a while - they make black plastic gutter guards or mesh as well...

Nice work!

Back a number of years ago, I had a '95 Eclipse turbo with a '97 front end (see illustrative pic).

It had that HUGE opening in the front, and sucked in everything.

...so anyway, I'm getting some weird smell through the blower/vent when driving it around. Never could figure out what it was until I'm washing the car out, and happen to look up inside that "mouth" to find a bird wedged in there ... Ended up having to pull it out with pliers, piece by piece. Was incredibly disgusting.

...can't imaging having to try to fish out a bird from in the JL tube - you'd need a coat hanger to get the thing out.
