Talking New Lightning Owner...

Well, I traded my F250 Super Duty V10 for a new 2003 Lightning.

Wow this truck is awesome!! I'm having so much fun driving it, and it's completely stock. It makes me want to giggle it's so much fun.

I have no idea if I will modify it or not as I don't want to take away from my Mustang.

I do need it to tow my car trailer though. I assume this isn't going to be a problem, but I haven't tried it yet. If anyone has any good or bad experiences, please let me know.

I love this truck!!

Greg

Welcome!! I bought my 03 not even a week ago. These trucks are great, arent they??? I kinda miss having some more room in the back, but hey the engine in the front more than makes up for it, right?? Congrats on your purchase...what color did ya get??

Alan,

Mine is red. I like the dark shadow gray and the blue better, but I'm not too picky and I like all the colors.

I guess I'll have to change my screen name too.

Your truck is beautiful!

Towing should be no problem....They are rated for 5000lbs, but I have towed more than that with my other F150 with less braking and less power.....Good luck and have fun with her!!

Talking My Mustang...

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone.

Yeah, I know mods are addictive. It's just that the truck is so perfect already. I can't imagine how some of your trucks must be with more power, and better suspensions, etc.

I am all to familiar with going nuts on modifications. I have a 1990 mustang that has a 408 Windsor with a Vortech Mondo J-trim supercharger that is blown through a Demon carb in a vortech box. It's still street legal too. I've owned and raced the car for 13 years. If you want to see the dyno run and a couple of pics check out www.dynopro.com I'm number one on the Mile High Horsepower Rankings.

I am certain that I will do a few mods to the Lightning, it's just that I need to keep it from getting too wild as it still needs to be used as my tow truck and daily driver.

Thanks everyone!

Greg

Welcome aboard. You won't have any trouble pulling that mustang of yours. I have a 99 with the 3:55's still installed ( not for long) and I pull mustangs to the track all the time. 80-85 mph and ya don't even know it's back there. Of coarse, I'm in Florida and there is not the terrain you have out there either. Never the less, I pulled my 67 chevelle convert. to Indiana a few years ago with the L and the only difference was the absense of ANY fuel economy Once again, welcome.

Forget using it as a daily driver in Colorado! Well. maybe a daily driver in the Summer months but not in the Winter.
