Angry Tires Spinning too much

Hey
I have a 03 Lightning. Just picked it up about a month ago so there are no mods to it. My friend has a Civic Si so i decided to give him a run in a local industrial park. I honestly measured a good 7 car lengths of marks fomr me spinning the tires. The lil b@stard almost pulled away with the win too. They spun up until about 42mph. Any of you doing the same thing or have any tips to eliminate spinning from the start? i gave it 3\4 throttle off the start then full about 3 seconds later. This sucks! thanks guys

try giving it 1/2 throttle....there's a thousand reasons why your truck didn't hook up (road conditions, wet pavement, dirt on tires, the 03's have an additional 1inch susp. lift for payload....blah,blah). if at 25 mph you were spinning the tires, why not just let off the gas till it hooks up and then get on it again....instead of smoking the tires until it hooks up (like in 4th gear)...

what i've learned is that driving an L is like driving no other vehicle. they can be super fast and smoke literally everything that pulls up next to you, but if you drive it incorrectly it's like using a funny car as a daily driver.

Cold tires and cold concrete/asphalt makes for a LOT of spinning. Warm up your F1's a bit before, may or may not help out. You should STILL take him feathering the throttle out of the hole.

Good luck

Can you say 24lbs of air pressure and ease into the throttle......... if so your problems will be solved.................... if you want a little assurance, yeah Nitto 555R's, like moses said, I love mine!

D-Day

I run 20#s of air in my 555Rs. I feather out of the whole til I hit second gear then I go full t-bone.

I can nail mine at 20 mph with the mods listed in my sig and stock F1's with no wheel spin. Anything less than 20 mph and I have to feather the throttle until I get to 20 mph.
