Thinking about customizing the dash inside my '02 L. After all I spend most of the time INSIDE the car and find all the black plastic quite boring for a fast sports truck. Was wondering if any of you have seen full custom brushed aluminum pieces to replace some of the black plastic and where to get them... Or post any pix of your customized dash.
Thanx a bunch...!

A lot of guys pop off the interior pieces, smooth and paint them. I have some brushed pieces to highlight the dash that look darn good, if I say so myself. I really like the brushed look on the dash.

smoothing out the interior pieces is a nice mod.. adding some billet (chickenears
).. maybe recover the headliner in black, with a new carpet to match... just little things can make a big difference in the comfort of ya truck.

Yeah, ur set up looks pretty sweet. I was thinking more on a modest side... he he. I checked out dash-kit website, but it doesn't seem like they have genuine brushed aluminum... it is all painted or something. I would like to replace the center black piece, may be the piece around the steering column and then the arm rest pieces where the power window buttons are. I already put aluminum guage bezel which I got on eBay and I like how it looks. Wanna get aluminum pedals too... cuz my truck is Silver so it will look good i think. Thanx.

You sand till your fingers bleed!
It helps to know a professional painter for final surface prep.
The basic steps are:
1) sand all the texure off (60-80 grit)
2) sand with 120/220/320/400 (wetsand with some 600)
3) get wallet to pay painter for filler primer, sanding and generous amounts of clearcoat, the more the better.
4) install parts... try not to crack them! (helpful hint, start drinking after the parts are installed)
