The truck was sold. Jason's been trying to sell it for a long time (2+ years, maybe?). I recently sold to a fellow overseas in the Middle East.

As far as it not being a real Lightning, that's all speculative. Obviously no stock-engined, stock-frame vehicle is going to go 7s. Is it any less or more a Lightning than a Gen2 with a built block (all non-factory components) and a KB? It carries the Lightning facia, and the Lightning name, and is a good representative of our beasts. Jason's truck is still a 351W, stroked to 440, with turbos

Note, the 7 second time is an old time, and the last official time (IIRC) of the truck. Since then, with different tunes, the rumor flies that it has dipped deep into the 6s, but not at an official, sanctioned race. Now, that's just hearsay. The 7 time was on a single turbo setup, the unofficial times being on the twin turbo. If anyone can verify that (it was pulled from various parts of my aching grey matter just now), it'd be great.

I had the privelage of watching this truck kick the $*#@ out of everything it had pull up next to it at a Fun Ford Weekend in Bradenton Florida a few years back. It truelly is an awesome machine. If I remember correctly it won the event against the fastest Pro 5.0 car at the event.

Jason carried that a long way. I have a couple photos he mailed me back in 1998. Jason is a nice guy and took the time to talk interested truck owners about the truck. Many of us are very happy to know there is a Lightning that is capable of that.
I know before long there will be probably be a eight or nine second Gen2 showing up that will also be questioned on what it is. But its just an owners desire to have something different.
