MAF... 90mm vs 95mm (Pro-M)
MAF... 90mm vs 95mm (Pro-M)
First of all, when you order the 95mm from Pro-M, you recieve a flow chart for a 92mm MAF. The serial numbers match from the MAF and the flow chart. I had Sal reburn my chip for the new part following the numbers provided. He informed me that it doesn't flow as much as the stock 90mm. I didn't really believe him. How could this be? One is 5mm larger in diameter than the other. It didn't make sense.
Well, he was absolutely right. I drove around with the new tune and the stock MAF for a few weeks. I was a little lean; but, no detonation. Everything was fine. When I installed the Pro-M, my truck started running very rich. While in drive, with no throttle and decelerating, it sounds rough as hell and backfires a little. No loud booms, light popping sounds.
Looks like I took a step back.
Thanks for the heads up Sal. Maybe I'll listen next time.
