Anyone using G-TECH PRO COMPETITION?

Thinking about picking one of these up. At least it
would let me test between mods without having to
pay $75 at the dyno ...

Any input would be appreciated...

I was thinking of getting one as well. Most people that I know that have used them have the regular G-tech, and found it to be pretty good on acceleration testing. I'm mostly curious about braking and cornering forces with it.

I have the G-Tech Pro and the G-Tech Comp.

I LOVE my G-Tech Comp. and gave away my G-Tech Pro.

You don't have to worry about leveling the Comp. every time. It gives you 60' times, and EVERYTHING else.

You can download data, on and on......

Have you compared your G-tech times with track times?

I've got a G-Tech Pro, a pain in the a$$ to calibrate every time you turn it on. But I believe it is relatively accurate. To get really accurate readings from it, you need to have your truck (or car) weighed at the track or at a truck stop. There's a whole lot you can do with it, download runs to a computer, download updates from the gtech website.

I don't think I had it calibrated well enough, so that's probably the reason for the differences - here is my track/G-Tech Competition times:

3 percent error is a bit high IMO. Wonder if the COMPETITION
version is any better for accuracy?

That is the Pro Competition model. The newest high-end one. Graphing/hp/tq....

Like I said, I don't think it was calibrated properly.

Guys,

I anticipated using one often. However, the fact that the local tracks are open yearround and most of my mods are complete, I no longer need one. Consequently, I'll be listing it for sale soon. Anyone interested?

I came across the Escort G-Timer: http://www.escortradar.com/gtimer.htm It looks interesting as well... the size and the look appeal to me more than the g-tech. Wonder if they are compariable in performance.
