a good friend of mine installs car audio and security systems for a living. They have a crazy security system with remote start and the works....the thing will start you L from 1 mile away, but it costs about $550...it's worth it though....only problem is I can't (for the life of me) remember the name....i'll let you know on monday morning....

You can get a DEI remote start alarm with 2way pager style fob for about 175

LightningCT,

I bet it's call 2WSSR. They are made by CompuStar. It's what I have on my truck. One of if not the best system out there!!!

Check out Audiovox Prestige, which has remote start and also pages u if somebody is trying to break in. It has bunch of other features too, like tells u the temperature inside the car, has parking meter timer, and other stuff I haven't figured quite out yet... Circuity City carries them for around $430 including the basic install.

as in they put a "Blue L.E.D." somewhere on your dash to fake an alarm? I could see a dealership ripping you off like that....seems like a play on words in you ask me.

i have the Clifford RS3 with all the bells and whistles. SUPPOSED to start from 1 mile away, but in reality it will start about 1/4 mile away with nothing in the way. Good enough for me. It rolls the windows down, has a keychain with a two way pager with display letting you know the truck was hit/bumped/broken into/etc. It was about $500 installed with lifetime warranty. They even take it out for free when I sell the truck.

I've got an Avital (by DEI who makes, Clifford, Viper, etc, etc...)Avistart remote start/alarm with window controls and prox. sensor. The cool thing about the window control module is that you can roll the windows down from the fob either all the way, or 2" at a time, then when it arms it will roll the windows back up, and it also gives you one touch down AND up for both windows...

I have an older Clifford IQ6000 and it is a great alarm. It was previously on my Bullitt Stang.
