Eaton vs KB - Better for daily driving?

I'm not sure if this has been brought up yet or not but now that more people have switched to the Kenne Bell there is a bigger pool to ask...Which one do you think is better for driving everyday with on the street? And I'm not talkin about being able to whoop up on anything on the street, I'm talking about in regular stop and go traffic and the occasional highway trip. Let me know what you think...and keep it close to a apples to apples comparison (i.e. stock eaton VS 16# KB).

The 1 MPG has been measured over a extended period of time? And also when you say cooler...how much cooler driving around town? Thanks

IMO for someone who is street driving and has no real plans for racing should go with something like an Apten Performance ported Eaton and spend the $3k on building up the bottom end. A solid 400+ to the tires makes for a great street truck without killing your wallet.

My 2 cents…

K/B

My truck is a daily driver and has never been to the track. Picked up about 1/2 mpg and 47rwhp just by bolting the K/B on. It is only money and you cannot take it with you. Skip

Interesting....and the price isn't that bad either. Not quite sure it would pick up the 30 hp like it did on the cobra but a nice option if you're trying to squeeze more power out of your factory setup.

I too noticed an increase in gas mileage. Not sure how much because I don't keep up with it but I definitely don't stop as often for gas anymore. I dropped 6 tenths off the Eatons best at the same 16lbs of boost.

What size pulleys does the KB come with? I know you can pick any real pulley combo you want, but what does it come with and what do they make from kb "stock"10#'s?

What I'm getting at is if anyone has dynoed the stock Eaton vs KB stock at the same boost levels? (How much gain does the kb give you at same boost level) Is it safe to say an Eaton @ 15#'s would dyno way less than a KB @ 15#'s? Or the difference between the Eaton and the KB will be easier to see (at those boost levels?)
Thanks, Shane

I have a diffeent opinion on this.I have been in KB Lightnings and the way I honestly can compare the two,Unless you are racing,Dont bother. It seemed to me like you lose a lot of throttle response at lower boost levels with the KB.I drove an 11 second L with a KB and it seemed sluggish until you really stepped on the go pedal and then it was real fast.YOUR question is a little different than the answers you are getting IMO.For daily driving,The stock eaton it crisper...........Yes it you nail it,The KB is definatly noticable but just cruising and accelerating quickly,The easton "seems" more fun.KB trucks seem sluggish until you go WOT I feel.

Do you think this id due to the "low-end" torque advantage of the Eaton roots blower vs the twin screw Kenne Bell?

Anyone?

At the same boost levels the K/B is turning much slower. I like it that way, because I can let my wife drive it to the store and if she does not get on it, it feels like a stock truck. Floor the throttle and all hell breaks loose! I think that it is the perfect street mod. The best of both worlds. Skip
