NTIMD8,
If you know the right people get them to built a set of bars. My cousin built me a set of slapper bars. We pulled the right tire off and measured for the long bar length first. We kept measuring and adding a piece until we had them finished. I bought the snubbers first so we could get the distance right for them. I wrote the deminsions down and put them in this drawing.
P.S. On the second set we cut a slot from the front of the bar back to the hole drilled for the snubber. This allows you to loosen the nut on the bottom of the snubber and slide it out the front of the bar to haul a load.

Well, I have the TrucTracks, and they have perfromed
flawlessly, including saving the entire bottom of the truck
from destruction in my wreck.
The benefit of the lafewoods and the TT's is that they are NOT always
working. Believe me there is no comparision in the quality
of Jay's TT's ... Sal uses them on the FASTEST GEN II so
that means they must work, huh?
And with Jay, you're deling with a REAL person ... he offered
to replace the bolts and hangers when I had my wreck. Quite
an offer that I don't think you would get from the larger vendors.

I just ordered a set of Lakewood's this morning. They will serve my purpose for now and I just can't justify spending $250+ more on something doing the same thing. Once I get more power, I may change, but these are better than nothing and will eliminate most of the axle wrap. That combined with the -2 pinion angle I will be getting from my drop shackles, I should be fine for a while.
And I agree...their strong point is that they are not always working and you can get a normal ride quality...

LTNBOLT, Thanks for the diagrams! Thats great work. I decided to go ahead and order the Lakewoods. At only $150 Canadian it was no big deal. If I find I dont like them then I will sell them to a regular F-150 owner and either build my own slappers, go with the TT slappers or to the JLP rancho style traction bars. I am sure the Lakewoods are gonna be just fine, esp after I upgrade to grade 8 hardware.
Thanks for all the info guys!! As usual you guys
