A new problem just arose......

Well after finishing putting the manifold, intercooler, and the charger back on. It looks like I have a new engine. I cleaned everything. With all new powder coated red ported plenum intake, stock ported throttle body, a fiberglass red ghost flame intake tube, a red granatelli MAFS, and my red metco idler pulley set, the motor looks sweet. With the new IT22 plugs, fuel filter I am ready to take the red beast for a ride. I start it up and it fires right up. I let the engine idle for about 10 min. checking everything out. It all looks good, it looks like I put things back together right. I was a little nervous at first but now things seem to be in order. The idle is as smooth as a baby's butt. So I take it out well right of the bat the truck wants to stutter like it is missing in part throttle. At idle and WOT it is fine I have no SES, but I didn't run the truck long enough for the PCM to pick it up if there was a problem. Now I think I did something wrong so I check all connection. Everything is good. Could it be the plugs? I hear no detonation. And like I said this happens in part throttle and low cruise speed only...........

Sounds like a Mass Air problem. The same happened to me when I had REMs mass air on my truck. It ran good at idle and full throttle but at part throttle it made a popping sound like a miss or something. I changed my plugs, fuel filter etc...I then put my stock Mass Air on and the problem went away...

Yeah, but this is the same MAFS I have been running for the past 10,000 miles. I hope it didn't take a crap on me. The truck definitely has more throttle response and pickup. It is even louder.

Try resetting your computer. Leave your headlights on and disconnect your bat for about 10 min. This will positively reset your PCM. Try cleaning your chip and contacts with an alcohol pad and restart and drive around again. Hope this helps...

I will try all that, If all fails it is going at the dealership anyways for the rear end. It is leaking real bad at the joints looks like a bad seal. I will have them figure it out. They are mod friendly........

I read a couple of years back of people having trouble with the Granatelli MAF. Like Promod said, try your stock MAF.
