Where to go for tuning in MD?

Hey Guys,

What's up? I was curious if anyone had any suggestions on where I should take my L for tuning? I currently live in Crofton, MD. I know that there is a shop called ELD Performance close to my house but not sure if they are good with L's? What do you guys think? Thanks!

Manny

I have heard good and bad about ELD... I know that most of the work they do is on the Mustangs...

For relatively close (Lancaster PA.) Lightning tuning check out JLP... They have great service!

I'd the JLP suggestion. It's not a far drive from Crofton, maybe 2 hours, in Southern PA.

Btw, if you haven't seen it yet, there's a Lightning club in MD, LOOM (Lightning Owners Of Maryland). We have a forum over on www.nloc.net

I was thinking about JL but there has to be something closer. Thanks for the LOOM info, I signed up and might have to check it out in more detail.

I'm right in Elkton, MD. It takes me about 35-40 minutes to get to Johnny Lightning Performance. I'd suggest giving him a call and making a day out of it. It would be a nice drive and you know you're getting a specific tune that's tested on your truck.

I don't think you will find anyone that specializes in Lightning's closer than JLP... You might find a shop willing to sell you some parts and put them on, but I highly doubt that they will have anywhere near the knowledge that JL does... Plus JLP has incredible customer service...

Just a thought...

Look at it this way. There are the major players in the Lightning tuning community: PSP, JLP, PSP, and some newcomers (REM, etc). There are also a lot of smaller businesses that do some Lightning tuning, and may be closer to you. I'm sure you could find a shop in that area (ELD, perhaps) that tunes maybe 2-3 Lightnings per month, and knowsthe basics. Or, drive a little farther to a shop that tunes 2-3 Lightnings per hour, and knows enough to talk your ear off

There are places closer, I'm sure. There is a very good tuner in the Baltimore area, but I think he's taken a vacation from his business, and has joined up with JLP. So, might as well go to the big guy.
