OK...How do you guys do it?

I haven't been racing for a few years. I went tonight to get some stock times and some with chip only. I COULD NOT cut below a 2.2 60ft! I know I suck, but I used to do alot better before. Temp was 72 and 662 ft above sea level. My truck is strong and I was hoping to run a "decent" time, but it didn't happen. To top it all off I reinstalled my chip and could not get the truck started..tried 5 times and nothing so I couldn't even get some times...

How do you launch on F1's? I tried 1/2 throttle then floor it. I tried one foot on the brake and taking the RPM's to about 800 then easing into it....I scrubbed the tires a little begore running each time. How will getting a 2.0 60 ft over a 2.2 drop my ET?

You are not gonna want to hear this but, Practice,Practice,Practice.

Play around w/ the air pressure, Rpms. Try 2 inch drop shackles for a better pinion angle.

The 60s will come down.

I launch from a dead idle. Foot OFF the gas. Then at launch time
I go 1\2 to 3\4 throttle quickly to get the truck rolling and then punch it to the floor. I can get consistent 1.8's now this way.

It does take practice but I was able to get the better 60's the second time out to the track.

If I launch with rpms up any, I spin.

Good luck,

Ya man what V said
and
Ya "what slo-poke said"

When I ran the F-1's, I found @25 PSI the best
go around water if possible
but do a Low RPM LOOOONG burnout
(it helps, don't listen to people that say it don't)
OD off
FOOT TOTALLY OFF THE GAS PEDAL
You wanna leave from an idle
When it's time, you wanna hit it hard and fast
(this flashes the convertor, should bring you your best 60ft)
If not, then hit it hard and fast but not all the way down at first.
then roll into it

Works for me
1.9's everytime on F-1's
My best was 1.8
My worse ever was (1) 2.0

GOOD LUCK fractaldragon

BTW
Every 1/10th you save on your 60ft
"Could" net you as much as 2/10th's better on your final 1/4 ET,
it'll always give you at least that other 1/10th off.
Most of your MPH and ET is put down by 1/2 track, so the faster
you get there, the better the 2nd half goes.
For example on my 12.0 run's
By half track, 1/8 mi (660ft) I'm already doing 90MPH in 7.6 sec's,
yet by the end of the run and another 660ft I only gain @ 22 MPH
more bringing my Final MPH to 112.6, yet I did that last 660 ft in a mere additional 4-1/2 seconds, making my final ET 12.0.
The slower my 60ft is, the less I got at the 1/8, hence the less
I end up with in the 1/4
