JDM creates another TEN SECOND customer truck
JDM Engineering recently completed my 2002 Ford Lightning with a built motor, Kenne Bell, and a few other goodies. At delivery Shaun (awesome guy and mechanic) drove the truck at my request on a conservative tune (as in gas dripping out the exhaust), no NOS, full weight, and on a track that was not hooking well, to a 10.965 second quarter at 122.29 MPH. My first run with the truck and after being instructed by Jim and Shaun to take it easy (as in ease into the throttle off of the line) given the track was not hooking and it was my first run ever with the truck was a

Now that Jo-Ann and I have had time with the truck as a daily driver we are impressed with the way that it drives putting around town. We are also extremely impressed with the detail applied by JDM Engineering in creating this ten second beast.
A good friend and excellent mechanic has commented on two occasions that the truck looks like a factory built truck :-) Awesome job JDM! Thank you Jim, Julie, Robin, Shaun, Inspector, Anthony, Marco, Justin, Kevin, and anybody that I am missing, you all did an excellent job!
Jo-Ann and I are looking forward to future race events with guys and gals :-) . Bill, Don, Kevin, Vinny great to meet you, see you at the track soon :-) Don thank you for all your help, time, tips, and installing the JDM window banner. Anthony thank you for the picture posted below and the idea of using a red banner to match the Simpson belts. .
Jim thank you again for everything! It is not everyday that one has the pleasure of driving ten second truck to work as daily driver. Jim it is truly an honor to drive one of your top trucks – thank you. Will post more pictures… Good luck to all at JDM day wish that we could be there, hope to see some best times (Bill, Don, and Vinny). See you all soon…

Take care,
Steve & Jo-Ann

Congrats...I know you have a lot of work and time invested in it. That ten second slip must make it all worth it!
As for the sound....if its anything like HDMLNIUM's....its almost an exotic type sound at idle...like a smooth vavavavava mello sound....then all hell breaks loose when the go pedal is stomped! (Bill, hope I didn't offend you with my interpetation of your exhaust...it sounds awsome!)

Jim, Pro-M mass air and chip working great. What a difference!!! No more pegging the mass air and computer going into safety-mode. Shifting @ 5800 while absolutely shreading tires off the rims. Pulls much harder upstairs too. I will take to the track, here soon as I can. If I can get her hooking decent out of the hole, I will surely be another 10 second truck addition to your arsenal.....

Awesome times! I wish to someday have a 10 sec daily driver as well. Isnt nice to know that your Ford Truck can beat almost any production car in the world (through the 1/4 of course)! I also love how it looks almost stock
Steve,
Great post, It's really nice to hear and read that you are this happy. You have yourself a great truck and I know you are having a lot of fun with it. I hope it all works out that we (Don, Yourself, and I) can make it to New England Dragway all together before it closes at the end of the month. I think it will be really cool having Three 10 seconds caged Lightning putting on a show.
I will see you soon, and I am so jealous of your seat set-up.
