Spark Plugs???
Spark Plugs???
Ok im about to put on my airaid intake and 4# pulley i was told its a good idea to change the Plugs since im changing the pulley.. What kind of plugs u all recommend i was told to get tr-6's and also how hard is it to change them or should i pay my friend 70 bucks to change them?? thanks u guys
Everyone has their opinion on plugs - I can at minimum share my experience:
I quickly changed to Denso IT 22's, then to AR93's and finally found a match for my L with the Beru S1K's. Keep in mind I have a KB with 16lbs and too many other mods to list.
Just a personal preference - I found improvement in throttle response, idle and overall just a smoother running engine.
Some will tell you the Beru's are more reliable than the Denso's, but again that is an opinion.
Good Luck. Pete has so many sets of plugs he can not only install but sell too.

A lot of L owners have the opinion that unless you get into some serious boost stock plugs are fine.
Rob_02Lightning first influenced my plug purchase and as he said, you are looking for a plug that can handle heat and offer reliability, especially if your L is a daily driver.
I ran the Beru's in my '99 Vette and found the identical experience with better fuel response and a smoother running engine - so I happen to be one of those Beru believers.
Or, look at it this way, the Beru is $8 bucks a pop or the Denso's $11.
After going through three different plugs I would recommend the Beru's to anyone regardless of their set up. Ask Promod what he thinks of his?
Good Luck

You aint lived til you changed the plugs on a Lightning
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING WITH THIS DESIGN--> I DON'T KNOW
I'd drive to Russia to pay $70.00 for someone to change mine,
(can you drive to Russia ???)
But West Palm for 20.00 is sounding much nicer,
see ya soon Pro Mod Hey how much will you charge to put
H Beams in my baby ??? $50.00
J/K Bro
I'm on my 3rd set, (Stock / NGK TR-6's/ Now Denso IT-22's @.038)
I found much better performance and response from the Denso's over the NGK's, but I'm liking the results Dan's getting with these Beru's, may try um myself next time.
Either Way, Want an honest opinion, go for a better plug than the TR-6's

Yeah, do them yourself. You'll get some good personal satisfaction. Ive done mine twice and the first time sucked but the second time was so much faster. Im almost looking forward to doing them again to improve the speed.
