I am not one to talk bad about someone else but I have been holding all this in for about three months. I have only posted on this board once before years ago. I am from Tennessee and have a 99 lightning with all the goodies. After waiting forever to finally get my KB blower I decided to get a tuner to work on my truck and make sure everything is correct. In the past I have always turned my own wrenches. I have a full lift in my garage and have installed three engines in this truck myself. Since I was not capable of tuning my truck and burning my own chips I was talked into giving Jim at JDM a try. I have bought products and tunes from all the other guys and my roomate at the time said he was pretty good. THIS IS WHERE THE NIGHTMARE BEGINS... After speaking to Jim he said to drive my truck to St. Louis and he would trailor to his shop. My truck was running fine but I thought I had a blown head gasket and I needed a new tune for KB blower. I also told him I thought this would be the perfect time to install stage 3 crowler cams since he was replacing head gaskets anyway. I met Jim for the first time in St. louis with my truck to talk to him about working on it. He was very busy and informed me my truck would not be trailored but driven by Sean(his mechanic) back to New Jersey. This worried me but I just drove it 350 miles with no problems so I didn't see why it couldn't make it another 1100. I then told him I wanted stage 3 crowler cams new head gaskets check out my heads for damage and tune the truck. He said no problem and it should be ready in a few days. I said no problem because I had to ship him my blower the following week(the KB I have been waiting for). He takes my truck and I go back to Nashville and a few days later my KB shows up. Excited I open it and fondle it and notice it comes with a 3.5" pulley and I need a 3 "..I ship the blower to Jim and I call and order a 3" pulley which I ship to him to a few days later. Okay my part is done now I wait. and wait .and wait. I call after weeks of waiting and truck has not been touched. Anyway after 2 months Sean calls me telling me that I need a new engine because mine has run lean and there was slight damage to the top of the pistons. I felt trapped because I took my truck to get cams, head gaskets, heads checked and tuned and expected to spend about 3000.00 and he told me to fix it would be almost 14,000. I told them to just do the work I instructed and I would take the chance of the pistons not holding up. Sean said it would cost between 4 and 4500.00 to put my engine back together. I said go ahead but try to keep it down to 4000.00 Jim calls me and tells me my truck is ready but it is running out of fuel and he has ordered 55lb injectors to fix. I said okay I will pick it up next Friday.I am thinking great there goes another 500.00. I fly down to get my truck and I am standing in front of a 7600.00 bill.. Yes 7600.00 !!!!! He informs me that my truck needed a new battery and a regulated fuel rail which cost 400.00 . He said the KB's must have regulated fuel rails. I thinking thats funny I have assisted the installs of 2 KB's and we didn't use regulated rails and had no problems. I didn't say anything because he is the professional. Anyway I pleaded my bill down to 6500.00 paid him and walked outside to fire up my truck.. It started right up but idled rather smoothly. I asked him about this and he said he had to work real hard on the tune to get that smooth idle with my big cams. I asked him for my 3.5" pulley(the one that came on the KB) and he told me that it was kind of weird but my KB came with a 3" pulley and he gave me back the 3" pulley I shipped him.I thought this was weird because I measured it myself but didn't figure it mattered as long as it was a 3" on the blower. I drove the truck home 1100 miles with no problems. Now that I was close to the house I gave it all she had. The truck would instantly cut off and have to be restarted. I called him and he said he new what the problem was and he would send me another chip. 2 weeks later another chip same problem. The truck would even quit in neutral if you goosed the gas hard. This is where it gets good. KB contacts me and asks me if I had sold my Blower.. I said no why. They say someone in Canada is trying to register for warranty or something. I race downstairs and check my sn # and guess what ... The KB I shipped JDM has some how changed sn's. I GUESS THIS EXPLAINS HOW IT HAD A 3" PULLEY ALREADY ON IT...I call Jim on this the next day and he says he does not understand how this could happen. I then tell him this makes me wonder if I did get the injectors I ordered and the stage 3 cams. He insisted I got the cams and we hung up. Now I audio taped all of our conversations and I will add a file so people can listen to the actual conversation.. I talk to KB about my warranty and they say it will not be a problem. Thank GOD because KB totally locks up the next day..I ship the KB off and while I am waiting I decide to pull valve covers to look at cams. Guess what part # 62802 which is stage 2 crowlers... I even measured the lobes and gave the specs to Dave Crowler to be sure they were not a special grind.. No standard stage 2. I call Jim again to tell him the news(taping the conversation of course) he says that is his special grind . I tell him No I checked on that and he then says that stage 2 is all he uses and he thinks that I will be happy if he can stop my truck from quiting. I said no I wanted the stage 3's not only for the performance but also a radical idle. He then said he would refund my money for the cams and install. I told him I had already ordered the new cams and I would send his back cod for the cost and labor. He said ok. Got new cams new blower. Trucks sounds great but still shuts off with Jims chip. I ordered one from JLP and tell him to tune as close as he can for my mods and everything now works perfect. I sent old cams back to JDM a month ago and they refused cod because Jim was going to be gone to fun Ford weekend till sept.29 Today they call and say they are going to refuse cod again because Jim claims he never said he would refund price of labor of install of cams. I told them the next paper work they get from me there not going to be able to refuse.. Like I said I have all the conversations on tape and will post as soon as I figure out how.
Don't mean to be a di(k but this thread should be closed. I have seen many threads like this turn to *****. This should be conducted with Jim himself and it should not be posted on here. If worse comes to worse get a lawyer.
