Good information for lightning owners with pullys....
I changed my plugs this weekend cause ive been running a 4# pully for about 5k miles with stock plugs.Everybody claims you NEED to do this but heres what i think after looking at my PERFECT plugs that i pulled out.
Its not the pully that is going to ruin plugs.Yes you might want to tighten the gap a little but I feel the stock plugs are just fine.ITS YOUR TUNER who disolves your plugs.I feel if a plug goes bad,Your tune is not right!!! Ive seen people on here that have a 4# pully and the tips are blown offin a week and mine look just perfect. So I feel that my program is probally pretty safe.So if you are having plug problems,we know what causes it in all motors.not just lightnings........
LEANESS
DETONATION
Inaudable DETONATON
TIMING problem.
oil/rings/valve seals/
I dont think tha toil is a factor with us but its the rest that your TUNER has control over.tell ya the truth,I would feel just as happy to put the stock plugs back in next time. After 5k miles,i know my tune is safe I FIRMLY believe that is what is important.

I'm so sick of putzes saying something like that with their stupid popcorn icon everytime something vendor related comes about.
'The people' have a right to know who sucks and who doesn't.

c'mon guys ... it was a simple question, I could care less who likes who, or who is a putz or whatever...I only asked for who does his tune...out of pure curiosity since he seems so happy with it.
It's not the tuner, it's the tune on the chip. If you don't want any issues, get a mild chip. But then you can't complain that your truck only ran this and someone elses truck is faster. If you want to play it safe, get a colder plug. You'll take less chances with weather changes, bad gas, etc.

Hey Crued....Or should I just say RUDE....It's jagoffs like you that start crap on boards like this and ruin it for people who want info about their trucks.....So put that in your pipe and smoke it....

With a 4# pulleys increased cylinder pressure & load, running a colder plug helps to keep detonation at bay with higher cylinder pressures & heavy throttle...that all.
Remember, each full heat range colder in spark plug will pull another 70-110 degrees C out of the combustion chamber.
So you've had good gas and filter ....along with a good tune for 5K
Some may want to decrease the chance of detonation by going with a colder plug in thier 30k truck....some want to run a stock plug because they are sure detonation is only related to the tune......BTW Lightningquick you are going to slap some TR6 back in right?
