you need a chip for that much boost

other then that you'll be fine, unless you get a jitty tune

don't drive it without a chip.

you will be LEAN and well EXTREMELY LEAN and will burn a hole in the piston.

GET a chip, get it dynotuned!

That is a can of worms, some people say it is safe others say it isn't. I personally would have a chip.

Personally i think 4lbs is fine without a chip.I ran it for a while without a chip.Although it ran better and the boost was a little noticable,It was far from what a chip alone could do.I got a chip because I wanted to feel the full effect of the pully and go faster. My truck ran 12.60 all day long with a chip/pully/ THATS IT!! I didnt even add an air intake until after I went to the track. I think from past experience you will knock off about 2-4 tenths (NO MORE) with just a p4# pully. You really need a chip to make a difference. You could drop off a whole second like I did!! with just a chip.pully!Yes I was on slicks. My truck ran 13.6 STOCK!!

Ill put it this way.

The chip alone makes 100% difference from stock

the pully alone makes about 40% diffference from stock

You do both chip/pully and you gain an additional %60 making your truck run 200% better??????? Get it ??????

It's in the tune Mines daily driven 80 miles, plenty of kickdowns, etc. No problems(Knocking on my desk now).

My A/F's were fine with the 4lb , cold air and no chip, I even ran a 6lb -no chip for awhile.....but my friends 01 with the same 4lb and cold air with no chip was lean...on the same dyno.

Each truck is different...If you go without a chip, get your A/F's checked on a good dyno!

I think the question may not be so much: how much boost can the rods take... but how much heat at detonation can they take. There are guys now days with KB blowers running 15lbs of boost that are making some serious power and the engines seem to be holding up from what I am gathering. So who knows!

8# lower no problems yet, it pulls hard but after like 5-10 minutes of driving it it loses power. I dont daily drive it just for track use so I dont worry
