Angry accident damage today, ranting!

Well, I did it, it's my fault. I smacked into a car that stopped midway through a highway on ramp. (slow speed 15 mph max) Got a nice careless ticket too.

What I can't believe is the damage done to the truck, license plate bracket ripped off (big deal), but the lower grille popped out and broke, the cover tore in half and the intercooler rad appears to be curved now.

Will be going tomorrow for estimates.

Why the hell isn't there any absorption material in the front bumper structure? Directly behind the lower grille are the frame ends!
Also, why did Ford choose to make the fascia out of fiberglass instead of urethane?

Sorry just ranting, I'm POed at myself. I should have known better. (older woman in a Buick in front)

Go to court. They'll usually drop the careless driving charge if insurance companies are involved. I did the same stupid thing years ago coming home sick from work - wasn't paying attention. Got a ticket, went to court, they threw it out.

Sorry to hear about the accident. It always sux to see your baby a mess. This may have a positive, though - maybe you could work a new paintjob into the mix, some sweet billet grilles, etc..

In jersey they aint dropping the ticket. They decided to pass a law against dropping a point ticket to a no point ticket. They will lower the amount of points to 2 at the lowest, but a careless is a 2 pointer already so i think your beat.

I work at a shop in Bridgewater. Youd like we could take a look at it for ya.

Cort Auto Body. (908)469-3285. Tell them Matt told ya to call.

Lightbulb

The frame ends are actually absorbing. Look at them and notice that there are indentations in them... these crumple and absorb the impact - in a heavier collision.
