You should think more about the tuner than the chip it self! Some of these tuners go off racing for a week or two and will leave you sitting on the porch!

WELCOME RYAN

Needing multi programs depends on your habbits + needs ???
If your racing at the track often and you like a more aggressive
program than the street program,
then yes you prob want a multi program.
Also if the street program is higher than say 17 degrees of timing,
and you live in a cold climate place, you may need less timing
in the winter to prevent Detonation.
(remember our PCM's can add up to 3 degrees in cold weather)

If however you just want the pleasures of the added HP/Torque,
dumping the annoying Torque Reduction, raising the Rev Limiter,
maybe some tiny tranny tweaks, higher Timing, and the correct A/F, and you dont plan on needing more than one program,
then a single chip will do fine.

I went from a single Diablo to a Double, but due to me running Nitrous that was a must.
Just for the record though, other than the Nitrous tune,
I've always ran the same program in the street than I do on the track. For what reason some ask ? So my L runs the same on the street as it does at the track

I currently run 18 degrees 24/7 and have a 2nd 16 degree program for a safer Nitrous tune, a Winter tune, Hi Speed Parkway Runs, and it can also be used 24/7 for better Economy (of course I never do that, I love my timing)

I wanted the Diablo Delta (flip), but for some unexplained reason my L just kept stalling out with the flip chip. I don't know if other '03 L's have experienced the same problem?

A single file chip worked perfectly, no stalling no problems - so that is the route I took . And now after having to go that route I am really happy with the one program. I look at it, why not have max power all the time. Although it does help a little that my L is just a weekend fun toy.

Good Luck and Welcome!

D-Day

I have a diablo flip chip in which the truck was tuned at REM.

Red = race (in cold weather) and green = street for me.

Rob cover it all, it's dependant on your needs.

Warm weather/cool weather
Street/Race
Street/Nitrous
Street/Vallet
???/???

If you don't think you'll ever need one of those combinations, then go for a single chip

I tend to disagree.........if you only needed a single program chip then why buy a dual program?? In your case a single program is fine. But others who go race a lot it is perfect.

I had a flip chip and loved it.

I just got my flip chip so if you decide that a single program chip is the way you want to go let me know and I'll make you a good deal on a superchip that is already programed. noctrnalmedic@cs.com

I prefer a flipper.. Got one side for street and one side for drag. I feel more comfortable with a safe side for the street....
