I've had this annoying sound that only comes from the driver's side of the engine like an exhaust leak coming from the header's (LT's). I've checked all the plugs, they're all nice and snug. I can't seem to figure this one out. I've gone through 2 sets of headers, originally Bassani shorty's and now the LT's and still the sound only comes from the driver's side? I have a theory that it could be piston slap maybe? It only makes this sound when giving it gas, at idle there's no sound whatsoever. It's as if you can hear the pistons running when I give it gas. Sorry for the long post, anyone have any suggestions/same experiences?

 

I have the same thing with my bassani headers and checked everything. Found nothing. I just think it is normal with headers. With a better flow of exhaust things just get louder and by the way my sounds sound like they are coming from the cats.

 

did you try snugging down the header bolts? headers have a nasty habbit of loosening themselves. or is it just the normal header noise?

 

Yeah, I've done that and even got the locking header bolts for that side specifically and still same sound. Don't know what it could be but it's annoying and gets louder as I accelerate.
