question about second battery

i wanted to add a second battery for my stereo ( i already have a yellow top sitting in my garage) and i was thinking about getting a battery box that mounts on the frame rail. i know that if you relocate your battery, nhra regulations require you mount a shutoff swicth clearly marked on the rear of the vehicle.

my question is this, if i mount the second battery on the framerail and it is hooked up with a battery isolator, do i need a shut-off switch to pass tech?

thanks
-glenn

A second battery is not necessary unless you are planning on playing your system full volume with the truck not running. Put your money toward stronger alternator instead.

i fully understand car audio systems. i already have the yellow top. i will get an alternator eventually, i already have it picked out. my question was concerning a shutoff switch.

but thanks for trying to help.
