FWIW, you'll lose some handling. Lowering helps the handling by creating a lower center of gravity.

100 times easier to buy lowering chackles (find them used for $40) and lower the rear 2".

I was wondering about this-do shackles worsen the handling as far as wheel hop/axle flex is concerned?
it helped mine.
lowering the rear, puts the pinion angle at a negative degree.
when you floor it, the axle will twist (just like stock) but hte angle will not be as severe.
