Question Quick Oil Filter Question

Quick Oil Filter Question

I am going to do my first oil change this weekend (dealer changed it when I bought it at the beginning of the summer) and I had a question.

After looking under the truck I noticed that my oil filter was located near the oil pan on the driver’s side and is vertical. Is this normal or did the guy who owned it before me put on a remote oil filter? My 2001 F-150 had it way up in the engine above the front axel.

In this the normal location for a 2000 L or did I get lucky?

Another quick question, is a Motorcraft FL-820S the correct filter? I’m going to use Mobil 1 5W-30.

Thanks,

Pete

That is sooooooooooooooo freaking sweeeeeeeeet! I got a freebee! Should be a snap to change the filter. I just thought of something else, is there a chance the filter size changed? I would think the dealer would have said something when they changed it.

Thanks again,

Pete
