FG-986B Fuel filter - Best Price?

Paying $11.95 plus sales tax (Total $12.94) at a local Ford dealership for the Motorcraft fuel line filter. Want to stick with the Motorcraft filter but am looking for a vendor that will sell for a significantly better price. Don't mind buying a few at a time if need be. Anyone know a source. I researched here but all the old posts have links that are no longer any good. Thanks in advance for your assist!

That's cheap.... the Diesels run around $64

You might find the fuel filter at some of the Auto parts store for a tad bit less but not much.

If you can get it from your dealer for under $13, then run back there and get it cause i picked one up today from my ford dealer for $17. Not to mention I made 4 other stops trying to shop around before going to the dealer . Some of the auto parts stores carried a fuel filter that says it will fit, but its alot fatter then the stock motorcraft one is. I would play it safe and go with motorcraft. good luck!

I just paid $18 for one at the dealer... that's rediculous. But I can't find them at any of the regular parts stores.

Picked one up for $11 and change at O'Reilley's Autoparts here in Austin.

I think the NAPA filters will work as well and are not as expensive.

Just avoid Purolator.

Are the purolator ones really bad? I've been running the purolator filter made for the navigator (aka big fat one) for about 7k mi now. I change it every other oil change... havent had any problems tho. Just want to know if I should stay away from them.

None of the Purolator filters will fit, that's all. They are not what they seem...

I just changed mine.I got the one from Auto Zone for $6.00 bucks.Fits perfect.Wal mart also has a Fram for $6.00.There is really no need to spend double the money.Especially when you change it every 10,000 miles.

Advance Auto Parts carries Motorcraft #FG-986B for $8.48 ea. I usually buy them 3 at a time. They also carry NGK TR-6 plugs for $1.69 ea. If they don't have any in stock, they can usually have them within a day or two.
