Let me see your Subwoofer Enclosures!!

the title says it all. trying to build one right now and the damn arm rest is getting in the way. do you all just not flip it up after you get your sub box in or do you have the box built so you can flip it up. any pictures would be greatly appreciated.

The arm rest can stay in the up position but to put it there the seat must be let foward first. The eq is in the passanger side seat back.

My seat goes all the way back, and the aremrest just has enough room to swivel up and down.

my buddy that built this setup for me wanted to do a sunken amp rack with a plexiglass window over it, but one of my requirements for the buildup was that the center console/armrest still be able to fold up and down with the seat in it's normal position. so the fancy amp display got nixed.

later,
chris

Sharpshooter, I have the same style box as you do, except with down firing 8s. My paint didn't turn out nearly as well as yours did though - yours looks great!! How did you do it?

I am having a custom box for 4 10's built for my truck next week. Do you guys think there is a way i they can make all 4 of them fit and still move the console up and down.

Sure, if you pull out the passenger seat. Seriously, four 10s take up a lot of cubic feet inside the box, and even if you give up some legroom, that's a lot of damn subs! I'm not saying it can't be done, but it will definitely be a challenge. There is only about 4" of depth behind the console if you want to be able to move it with the passenger seat all the way back. If they are successful, post some pics! I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to see it!

thats nice sharpshooter, thats the type I may have to look into myself...the gloss black looks more custom than the carpet. How much did it run you?

The box is made of MDF and Fiberglass with a Gel Coat finish. Gel Coat is what the finish is on Fiberglass Boats.

My buddy manages the R&D department of a local boat manufacturer, so he got me a great deal on the Gel Coat and Fiberglass.
