Lost the Truck for the weekend!

The very next night after picking up my 03 L the dash lights wouldnt play nice nice with me. Took it in on Wed thay said bad instrument cluster and that one was on order. Took it back in today and dropped off when they first opened up. Went to pick her up and they werent finished at 4 pm. At 5 pm they said they had to make new keys to make everything work ok. Then at 5:30 still no start with me leaving in a loaner. I miss her already!

Hey Yeller,

Never say never.
We build $50,000,000.00 jets where I work, and guess what, new ones have problems too.

Apparently when they put in a new cluster they have to sync it with the old cluster through the ECM and that involves reprogramming the keys for the PATS to operate with the new cluster. New they went to reprogram my keys they wouldnt play nice either. Finally one did and they cut a backup and then programed that one. Although that key looks like *****!!! Its slightly bigger then my orginal key and doesnt say Ford its says PATS. The service manager told me they buy the replacement keys through a Ford regional parts warehouse near Atlanta, GA. And that Ford has a strict policy on licensing of its offical logo and that the replace keys hadnt got the proper licenses from Ford yet. A call to my brother told me that was an out right lie as this dealership bought the keys through a third party cheaper then the Ford key directly from Ford but still billed the company at the same price for the more expensive key.
