engine is knoking

I have a 2001 ford lightning and 42000 miles and the engine is knoking like i have a loose rod and cant figure out what it is has any one had this problem and if so what was it, also i think i will meed a new motor and is it cheeper to get a stock motor from ford and them install it or should i get one bult and what could the prices be installed dont need a new supercharger also i would like a 32valve but if not it is ok and what moter should i get at what price you think it will be.

go with a built block. not too pricey. but a 32v motor is $$$$
