Great dialogue in this thread from a lot of people more experienced and smarter than me! I appreciate the interchange.

Don's Bolt--I am certain T&J Performance read the A/F from the exhaust tip so I agree with you...the readings would show slightly lean.

Jeff's Bolt--I'm eagerly looking for that printout that reflects 500 rwhp. Oh, and regarding the 03 Cobra owner at the dyno...he was about as nervous as a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. I'll bet he left with Oh, when is T&J performance customer exclusive track day planned?

Tim--Thanks for keeping my conservative concerns in check. I really didn't want to pull every last bit of hp out of the truck until all the necessary components were there to support it. I also appreciate the care I was given during the dyno time (no defined time limit on the dyno, catching the fact that the fuel was low in the tank, and even the street datalogging afterwards). Incidentally, please remind Winston to forward the results to me. Thanks again!

Dan_03Lightning--Yep, your truck and mine have similar modifications. Regarding the difference the electric fans make versus the stock mechanical...who knows? I don't have before and after results.

Ub2slow--It is a stock block.

The fuel pumps will give him a liittle more fuel pressure throughout the rpm range giving a little better A/F

We always see atleast a .05 drop in A/F on the street verses the dyno using a reflash.
If Gary beats on his truck repeatedly and exhaust temps get to high,it will dump alot of fuel in to keep it safe.He can attest to this.It did it to him after a few high speed blast.I do alot of this,and we test alot on the street after a dyno..We always have the same results.

Dont take my word for it ..Call and talk to Mike Morella @ Steeda.They also do alot of reflashing and see the exact same results.They will set a supercharged GT @ 12.5 on the dyno so its in the 11's on the street.We have worked with them extensively on reflash technology to optimize results.
FWIW,there are over 500 supercharged GT's currently using this technology and no motors have ever been lost.

Can you clarify, Jeff or Tim how you use the rear 02's as a EGT?

Does using the post cat 02's as EGT's kill the ability for the computer to run the Cat monitor test?

For those of you who dont know, the post cat 02's , or rear 02's arent supposed to switch from rich to lean, they are only their to ensure that the cat is doing its job, they dont fluctuate voltage like the front 02's do.

You are aware that the outlet temp of the converter(s) is higher than the inlet because of the chemical bonding of the 02 molecules to the H and C molecules, so using the rear 02's as EGT's is kinda confusing to me.

Dont forget kids, Lean does not equal HOT past the cylinders or manifolds.

In reference to the E-fan...My particular application picked up 15rwhp and 30rwtq...no *****. It picked up about 1-2 tenths and 1.5-2mph in the 1/4. I've had mine for right at a year now. It is just a great mod IMHO. In terms of efficiency, and it's ability to cool the truck down b/w runs at the track. Worth every red cent. Now that I have the KB, it just seems to help that much more. I use it as a safety measure.Its not used as a tuning tool.We allow the rear 02's to add fuel as a safety measure.If you go out and beat on your truck repeatedly,rear 02's hit the preset limit on exhaust temp and add fuel...

Ask Gary,his truck went limp after 5 or 6 hard blast.I do it to keep a retarded owner from blowing his truck or car up..

The CMS sensors don't measure temp. There is a "model" in the factory calibration which estimates exhaust temps based on time at load, etc. The PCM will kick into "cat cooling" mode if it thinks the exhaust temps have gone too high. It will dump in fuel to use up all the excess oxygen in the cats. The cats will cease to function for a short time and the temps will drop, keeping the cats from melting into puddles.

This "model" is no longer valid once major mods have been made. A tuner should be able to turn this function off.

That is the way I understand it to work as well, but cat cooldown is only done for extended periods of idling, not WOT. As a matter of fact, the computer doesnt even look at the 02's under WOT, so are you saying that it looks at them after WOT and then determines if it needs to dump fuel? It cant determine that under WOT, so what good does it do after WOT, unless adaptives allow it to factor that into the next WOT blast.

Do you also expand the MAP's in this reflash?

The O2 signals aren't used for the model. As I understand it, it's based on load (from the MAF signal), spark timing, and the AFR the PCM is asking for. Obviously, the length of time at various conditions enters into the whole thing. I believe the worst case is constant high load, retarded spark, and lean. This dumps lots of heat and quite a bit of oxygen to the cats. Factory calibrations at WOT tend to be rich enough to avoid problems, but chips and reflashes can be very different.

Or I could have it all wrong...
