Question Question about buying new out of state

I am currently looking to use my X-plan here in a couple of months when I graduate in december.

But here is the delema, no SVT Dealer in the state of Arizona will sell on the X-plan. So if I buy from So Cal they will sell on the X-plan.

Now Cali emission is different than Arizona and other states, how will this effect the vehicle, in the aspect of mods, and just passing emission here in AZ. They are pretty strict on 'em here.

Thanks

you will not pay the sales tax in the out of state state.
when you register your vehicle with your state, you will have to pay the tax then.
you will pay the sales tax at the rate of the place that you purchased it, EVEN IF IT IS HIGHER THAN YOUR STATE TAX.

For Example, I live in Michigan with 6% tax. If I go to OHIO with 10% tax (not really) and buy a Lightning and register it in Michigan. I must pay the 10% tax.

SOmething to think about.

to the best of my knowledge California has strickter standards for emissions so they should easily pass AZ standards.

In New York, If you buy a car in the city, and register it upstate, you pay the tax rate where you register it. When I bought my sailboat in New Jersey, I did not pay New Jersey sales tax. I paid New York sales tax when I registered it.

I was under the impression that this was the case with all vehicles.

You won't have any problems with emissions or anything else.

Take a little time and do the math. Make sure that you're still coming out on top if you have to pay more to get the vehicle out of state (airfare if you're flying there, sales tax, etc.)

I did the same thing when I bought mine (bought in Louisiana, registered in TX) and saved a bundle.

For me Cali is a 5 hour drive. A one way ticket can be had for $50 plus I have friends that would drive there to visit their friends that have moved there. So I should get out on top, because it doesn't seem to me that dealers want to deal on an L
