1/4 mile help guys

Okay I dont have a Lightning, but I know yall goto the track more than anybody. I just wanted some quick help. Is it better to run wiht the tailgate up, down, or off completely? Does dropping the spare and taking some weight off your truck actually make a difference in your time? I usually run wiht about a half tank of gas....and on an older truck beings as I have two tanks...that means I'm running with around 7 gallons in it. Are there any other tricks yall know ot make me just a hair quicker? I am going to let it cool down alot. I am not a rookie to the track but I just wanted to see if there was anything I could improve on. My best time to date was an 16.5@80 w/2.2 60ft...the temp was high 80s and 87% humidity. The conditions tomorrow are supposed to be 65 degrees and 75% humidity, so I think that should help me out some, but I just wanted to see if yall knew anything else. Thanks for the help!

Just a little info:
- Truck is a 95 F-150 Extended cab w/ 5.0L
- Superchip
- Long Tube Headers
- True dual Magnaflow exhaust...w/ X-Pipe and 4x9x14 mufflers...no cats
- 3.73 Gears w/ Auburn Pro LS
- Denso Iridium Plugs
- Accel Ignition stuff
- Race built 4R70W w/ 2200 stall
- Intake
- Underdrive Pulleys
- ....I think thats all

remaove as much weight as possible, ie tailgate, spare, tools etc. Whats that rule, for every 100lbs you take off, you can cut a .10 sec....As far as other "tips" to make you a hair faster, try a set of AFR heads, Holley intake, a nasty lopey cam and a 150 shot. That should help nicely.

If(?) your truck has a front anti-sway bar, remove or disconnect the ends. Pump the front tires up to their maximum psi.

Next oil change, switch over to Royal Purple Synthetic oil.
