Question Question about stalling???

Today when i was pulling into a parking spot at school my L stalled out on me when i went to put it into park. It happend about a month ago, and didnt do it again until today. I gave it some gas and it stoped it from stalling. Not sure whats wrong? If you need to know, i have a flip superchip, and havent replaced the fuel filter yet(if that even matters) thanks in advance!

This was posted earlier today, sound familiar? I'd put money on the filter-especially if its 3 years old....

also it could be you ICM or ICU or something like that. (Idle control Something). My truck wouldn't idle the other day when cold. the truck would take the gas fine but it just wouldn't idle. My friend at the ford place told me this was probably my problem.

Replace your fuel filter if has 8,000 or more miles on it but your problem is probably the IAC(Idle Air Control) valve. They get carboned up and don't let the proper amount of 'idle' air in. It's bolted to the left side of the upper intake adaptor with two bolts. It has an electrical connector on the end of it. Remove it and flush it out with brake or carb cleaner. A few Q-tips help too. It it's worn too much then replacement is necessary but try cleaning it first. It's a common problem with EFI engines.

thanks guys for the info. I'll def go and replace the fuel filter, just because it needs to be done. I'll also try and clean out the IAC and see if that does it. any one know of some good threads on how to do it, if i get stuck?

Here is a thread/pic . It's a 'no-brainer'. Don't overtighten the two steel bolts when re-installing.

And here is more

info/pics.
