Q for Hard Tonnue cover guys. And anyone into custom fabrication.

I have a custom made tonnue cover that I am putting on my L. It resembles a fiberglass cover, but its actual abs plastic. My question is...I haven't made a latch system yet. Do you guys think a tailgate latch assembly would work? I haven't seen the insides of a late model tail gate, but I'm thinking with the smooth handle (frenched into the cover) and some custom trickery on the latches, it would work. Any thoughts????

Check my gallery. I have pics of the inside locking mechanism on the tailgate of our late model F150's. I think you could get it to work with a little bit of modification. Fact is the lock bars pull laterally kind of like the lock on a camper shell you would just need to add some type of latch system that would work.
