unusual question about boost bypass please read!

i have heard that it is ok to just unplug the boost bypass sensor, but i really dont want to do that. can i tap into the wire and put a switch in the cab so i can turn it off and on. has anyone tried this, will i have problems if i switch it while running? just want to keep it stock for everyday driving.

thanks in advance

All one would have to do is find the power wire to the solenoid, cut it and splice in your switch. But why would you wanna switch it? If you are boosting up over the stock amount, it will bypass anytime you restore power to the solenoid won't it? At wot obviously, not at idle.

Now are you saying that you will blead off boost if you add a bigger crank pulley because I have a 3#ER and my gauge shows the added boost.

Well, not exactly. I think I meant to say that it will bypass boost if it exeeds the preset overboost pressure.

I have no idea what the preset pressure is. I am sure that someone will post it.
