Noisy spout on KB

The noise from the front spout of my KB sounds like a thrashing machine at idle. I called KB and they said it was normal, especially with a rough idle(cams). It does seem to quite down some with some rpm's. I just wondered how many of you guys with the KB's are experiencing the same thing????
Thanks
Mike

Thats BS
My first KB was like that

KB sent me a new unit and it is as quiett as the stock blower.

I have a set of Crower cams so tell them to send you a new blower.

Mike,
Aren't you on your 2nd KB already? I thought it was you I was talking to at Gainesville that had one seize up.

Eric

Mine is noisy at idle, but is quiet at any other rpm. I think it may have to do with the blower rpm at idle, but I can't really prove it. When I first put the blower on I ran a 3.5 pulley with a 4lb lower pulley(not sure of size) and it was quiet. I then upped the lower to a 6 lb(9 inch) and the noise started. I now have a 2 3/4 upper with the 9 inch lower and it has gotten quieter again. I was told it was gear lash?? I'd be interested in knowing what you find out.

Thanks Mike

If the idle is low, like 650 or so, and you have a lumpy cam they will make that noise. If you raise the rpm slightly it will go away.
