04 HRTG Lightning... 32 valve engine???

I was told the new 04 L would have a 32 valve engine!!! I was told this by the sales manager of the dealership I ordered from. I was in there today to get a print out of the sticker and I asked what was different from the 03. I was told "nothing but the engine.... 32 valves." Now I know this is not going to be true... as much as I wish it was.... but what engine will the 04 L have? Is it going to have the 24 valve enging or what? Mine is due to be delivered in 5 wks and list price is 33,310.00 for anyone interested. Any help on this engine deal will be appreciated.

Thanks FMJBOLT, thats not what I wanted to hear. I would have thought they would at least use the new 5.4 engine. Maybe too many changes for them to use it. I think they will have a hard time selling them this year. My dealer has 5 03's on the lot now. Think I will call them tomorrow and tell them I will pass for this year. Thanks again for the info

Hey Bill! how ya been? You know me.... I love that Silver. So I will have two Siver L's if I go ahead with the deal. An 02 and an 04, but I tell you I'm not so sure now. I would have thought we would at least get the 3 valve head. I don't know, I am going to have to think about this now.

I will be back in Miami around the 26th lets get together for lunch.

The price you stated seems way too high. If you can get it out the door for $29,000 then you are doing OK.

Yeah, that's MSRP. I will be buying it at X-Plan price. Should be some where around 29000. I think I will be passing on this one. It really dosen't give me a lot more than my 02 that my son now owns. I don't know but I think they are going to have a hard time selling these. Why should anyone with a Gen II buy the 04? This dealer has 5 03's on the lot and they are getting the 04's that are identical to the 03. I think I am going to pass on the 04. I will wait for the 05. Thanks for the info.

You are correct. One would think that a major auto maker like Ford would make certain the dealerships properly train their sales staff about the product they are selling. I mean this is a big ticket item and they don't have a clue about what they are selling. I don't know, I give up. Thank goodness I have you folks to set the record straight.
