Checking cylinder numbers..........

What is the cylinder configuration for the 5.4L motor. In other words, where is the #1 cylinder, #2 cylinder etc............ and what is the correct firing order?

Passenger side front is #1 then 2 ,3 ,4
Driver side front #5 then 6,7,8

Billarf covered it, but here's a related helpful tip for "V" motors:

Number one cylinder is always on the side of the motor with the head that sits forward more of the other one.
