BedRug and Chikenears Engineering

Well, purchased a BedRug from Tim @ http://www.chikenearsengineering.com/filter.htm and have to report Tim as usual shipped faster then hell. I received the BedRug in two business days. Wish all the vendors here and elsewhere were as quick to email reply, ship, etc.. Anyway, installed the BedRug today in about 45 mins time. Install was easy and Geeeeeeeeeeeeeeez, that damn BedRug looks great! indeed a well made product. What a great addition to my '03 L.
Hmmmm, now just have to find a buyer for the Duraliner (selling very cheap) that came with the truck...

To a top notch vendor Chikenears Engineering

Well, so far I have gotten a FTVB, S&B Powerstack Cold Air Filter Kit and the BedRug from Tim. All the items came 2 business days after ordering. His prices are within reason also. He is quick to email reply if you have questions, concerns. I bought a product from another vendor here and it took that vendor 6-7 days to get back to me after I repeatedly emailed and left voice messages for him..... then he had some gal call me and ask me what I wanted. I have had this product since 8/24/03 and still to this day have an issue that neither manufacturer nor vendor has addressed. The manufacturer was at least quick to call me back and say he is addressing my issue and will have the necessary part to me ?.... the vendor (a favorite here and a fellow New Yorker) will no longer receive any of my $ in the future. No excuse for poor customer service, not even that it is race season.. Noticed he found time to get the $ !

$274.95 plus I believe he gets $20 for 2nd day Fedex anywhere in the USA. I did find other vendors with the same price and a tad less shipping but opted to go with Tim as I know I will get the product in 2 business days from ordering. Other vendors may offer a few "very few" dollars less on shipping but the product takes way longer to arrive at the doorstep of the purchaser.

BedRug Logo... yuk?

I forgot to address a concern some have posted here in regard to the BedRug. The word BedRug is on the BedRug but now in fairly small letters on the right side, back bed wall of the rug toward the top. Apparently, the word BedRug used to be printed in BIG letters dead center on the rear bed wall and this was not liked by a few here. Anyway, the word is now hardly noticable and really does not detract from the rug which is a beauty. There is also now a small yellow warning label by the tail gate with lightly stitched and easily removed stitching that looks like heck, that warns (rightly so) that filling gas cans while they are in the truck bed is a big no, no.
Oh, rug color is a gray color. (Geeez, loos especially good with the shadow Grey L color) Comes nicely packaged with very complete info on install, maintenance, warranty, customer service, etc.. Plenty of 3M fastener material, etc..

Well, I found I'd get a few (very few) drops of water in through the factory tonneau cover on my '03 L. I found most of that was up in the front where I saw some openings between the tonneau frame and bed. I used some adhesive backed strips to fill in those openings the other day. Regardless, even if I get a tad bit of water the BedRug will have no problems with it from what I have read here and elsewhere and accordingly to the manufacturer. Apparently the rug material is a plastic of some kind and dries quickly without odor, mildew, etc..
