First time at the track

Well I had anticipated high 8's, and could only get low 9's. I raced 2 different LS-1 Fbody cars, and beat both on reaction time. They were running mid to high 8's with 2.1 60'. My first run I launched from idle and got the 9.0, the second I launched from about 1k rpm and got a 9.1. The truck had absoulutly no spin. Do you think I should try lauching from 1500-2000 RPM.

I had got called into work on my way to the track so I didn't have time to let the truck cool down. The weather was nice, about 70 degrees.

I guess I’m going to order the CAI, 6#, and chip next week and see what kind of times I can get from that.

Sharpshooter, those were some impressive times for a stock '03 L. Question, did you lower the pressure in your rear tires to 25-26psi (or were you in too much of a rush b/c you had been called into work)?

Your 60' times aren't bad, but you can easily get them down to 1.9-1.8s on the stock F-1's.

Other than that, as the temps were fine, the only thing you need to do next time is allow at least a 1/2 hour of cool down time between runs.

Great times...especially for your first time out!

Nope I didn't have time to mess with tire pressure. I might try that next time I have a chance to go to the track. I think If I try to get the 1.9 60', I should see a 8.9 1/8th.

Even though I didn't break into the 8's I did have a blast.
