Denso Gap Advice
Running a KB and installing a 2.75 upper pulley, Johnny L chip, and Denso IT22's.
The plugs came gapped at .028, is this the gap I should be running or should I
change it? Any help would be appreciated. Anyone know if you need the tool
to change the upper on the KB?
Thanks from the Ghead.

Hopefully the Big Boys will bang in and help.
Unfortunatly everyone will have a differant opinion on The Gap
I like .038-.040 running 14 lbs of boost on the stock motor + s/c
I also run Nitrous, but most will tell you to go smaller.

I don't know the gap, but just be very carefull with the Denso's when you gap them. DO NOT use the electrode for leverage to bend the tip. You will end up breaking it; I used a small screwdriver to very carefully adjust mine.
BTW: You might want to say what lower pully you have/how much boost(the upper size does not give everyone a lot of info)

Gap to .042...thats Densos recomendation for the 22s, if you wanted to stray from that Id go no tighter than .035.....my IT24s are gapped to .032 as per Denso also.....your 22s are good to about 20#s of boost.....Pete

I have mine gapped at .034 since I run 14lbs on the street and 16-18 at the track.
Works great for my truck, but every truck is a little different.

Good rule of thumb on plug gap and boost, close the gap .001 / 1lb of boost over stock. OEM gap is .042-.046 so with 14lbs of boost being approx 5lb increase close them by .005 - .037-.041 with the smaller being a safer choice.
