Lightning Help, Lost Power

I have a 2000 Lightning, 28k miles. Only mods are JL chip, air intake and #4 pulley and exhaust. Was cruising along on the expressway, and all of heard a noise like something popped. Then the truck lost power and was immediately pulled over off the road. Pulley, air intake and belt all seems to be in tact. If you start her, she makes a terrible noise. It seems to be coming from the right side of the engine block itself. Does anyone know what could be going on?

It's at the Dealer, and it is a blown plug. Because of the thread damage, they are saying the head is going to need to be replaced. Is this true?

Some people have had success with heli-coils or inserts, but Ford tells their dealers that a head replacement is the only way to fix it. If it's covered under warranty, let them replace the head, if not, do a search and look at lower cost alternatives or bite the bullet for the new head. Good luck.

If i were you befor you pull off all your mods just take a quick look at your plugs just for g.p.T he odds are though if you did launch a plug its goin to be the #4plug.That plug is hard to get to so tightening it down requires a little mother funkin.
But hey if you did launch a plug well hey man im sorry.I wish you nothing but the best of luck and hope you just fouled one out.

Talk to them; a lot of time you can get them to cover all/part under "good faith" expecially if you are just out of waranty coverage. Or you could say you had heard a slight noise a while back when it was still covered(say it started then which it actually did).

What is a good price for a new head at the Dealer, including labor?
