Some people amaze me...

I was over on www.stangnet.com looking for some answers to a question I had asked on this site about a Saleen when I run across a post about "mustang gt vs. lightning". Sounds interesting so I check it out. Well most of them are talking about how they have beat them, a few are saying how quick they are, and one guy from S.C. says the only ones he has seen run a 12.9 were heavily modded and had "a bunch of bolt ons" or something like that. So like a dum*as* I reply and let him know to come up North if he wants to see some quick L's without ALL the bolt ons. He informs me he would beat me because all I have is whats in my sig. All I was trying to do was inform a few of them of how quick our trucks are and how much quicker they can become with just a few mods and not ALL the bolt ons. Sorry to vent here, it just amazes me that people can be so, ignorant, and when you try to give them some advice and knowledge they get defensive.

I had a 2002 Mustang GT when I bought my Lightning. I wound up trading the GT when I realized I didn't want to put my L through the daily grind on my jobsite.
At any rate...My Mustang had 3:73's, 315Nittos, Bassani Hi-flo catalytic X-pipe and Cat-back, Cold Air, 70mm T-body, PHP Plenum spacer, PHP chip(for speedo and timing advance), and a Steeda Tri-Ax shifter.
One night a buddy and I were sitting around, and decided to take the two out a run 'em head to head (The L was still BONE stock). FYI:The best time I'd gotten out of the GT was a 13.82 @ 100.1 in GOOD air (power shifting my A$$ off!)
With me driving MY GT and my buddy driving MY L, he proceeded to KICK MY A$$...I've never had so much fun getting YANKED! We ran dead stop, 40 punch, 60 punch, it did not matter...shifting my tail off and watching the L walk the dog EVERY time...BONE stock.
Now I know with 4.10's, LT's etc...etc...you can make a GT run O.K., and they're neat little cars, but they ain't got ***** on our trucks! Don't let those other forums get to you. Opinions are like A-holes, everybody's got one...Just let them talk their little yap yap on the boards while we wax their a$$ everywhere else Sorry 'bout the novel.

Later,
Rob

I see them all the time and have yet to have one even try to race me. It's strange but the hond civic will but mustang GT's nope not one yet. At the local 1\8th mile track they all seem to run high 9's one did run a low 9. Now, these are the street guys we see everyday NOT the ones rocking back and forth

slownet.com is not much better then the corral. The ignorant and clueless mass far outway the knowledgable individuals on that/those sights.

Just let it roll it off your shoulders. We know what these trucks can do, and the important members over there know also.
