Trucks been gone for 3 months now and...

Well, i sold the truck 3 months ago and I really dont miss it as much as i thought i was going to. I drove the L daily for almost 3 years and was consumed by it, these trucks almost become a lifestyle. When i first started reading these boards there wasnt even pullies and the fastest trucks were in the high 12's, the Lightning has come a long way. The L was fun, but it got old, i realized that this mod stuff never ends, and decided it was time to move on. It just seemed like there were way too many L's around town and with talk of the gen 3's i wanted out while i could still get some money for it. I now drive a 4x4 tacoma V6 5spd and love it. occasionaly i do miss the blower wine and the
2-1 kickdown though.

And the point of this is what? Here is my take on your statement and others like it. You are looking for conformation that you made the right decision. By posting that you had an L and now you are glad you don't on an L board is about the same as me posting on the Mustang board about how glad I am to not have a Mustang.

Good luck with your Tacoma, I do think they are an okay truck but not something that can be compared to an L since one is designed as a sports/performance and the other designed as a college boy truck.

"Well, i sold the truck 3 months ago and I really dont miss it as much as i thought i was going to." Sounds like a better place to post would be on the Tacoma boards...

Z28KLR,

If you miss the blower whine, you're in luck. TRD Makes a supercharger for the Tacoma. Here's the best part, if you buy it from your dealer and have them install it, the entire truck is still covered under the Toyota warrantee. It adds 64 hp. to the factory figures.

It may not make your Tacoma into a Lightning killer, but a factory backed, supercharged Tacoma is hard to argue with.

Yea put the TRD blower on that Taco...It uses an Eaton M62 and if you put an intake on it and the 9# pulleys it whines just like a "stock" Lightning.

So if he does all of that then he is back into the mod thing, which I believe is the reason for the Tacoma purchase.

BTW I saw a new Tacoma the other day (I think) and it had the oddest box on it. Kindof like a stepside but not really. If this is the new model ohh baby.

Thanks for the inspiration. I just went over to the F250 board and told them that I don't miss my SD anymore and I am really much happier with the L.

I can't see that far in the future to think I will ever loose my need for speed?

I must agree with the above posts, it is odd you would tell a bunch of L crazy guys that you're not going to miss your's?

Good Luck with the Tacoma.

Yes it is odd, but we as current Lightning owners should be more aware that the L has obviously made quite an impact on them if they still feel compelled to post here. We should take it as a complement that even after weeks and months of non-L ownership they still come back to relay their feelings. Thanks!!!

Personally I do not care what vehicle you drive. Its your choice and your money, BUT you might want to change your user name to "Killed by a Z28"
Because your user name does not apply anymore.
