blower snout trivia
Actually, it doesnt look exactly like a Works140 case
Here is Sal's
And here is Calightning's
Now those are "older" castings, so unless they changed the casting on the blower, they arent 140's...

The above pictures are of the same prototype Eaton blower that first resided on JDM's '99 Lightning ( bottom picture ) and after the truck was sold and put back to stock that blower was used on Paul G's truck ( top picture ).
As far as screw type rotors in Eatons...well, Ford owns Jaguar and Aston Martin and some of those vehicles have screw rotor blowers. If you know someone with access to those parts bins you can piece together some cool stuff for Lightning's .... or something

That is what the problem is. Vendors may run a time and don't disclose they had so and so part which made them quicker than they would have been without it. They are able to sell parts to their customers based on an untruth.
It really wouldn't matter if a non vendor didn't want to disclose his parts because that is part of racing as long as a vendor didn't use the times from the non vendor as claims of HP gains from the vendors parts.
For example how many little people knew that JDM didn't have a stock blower on his truck? How many people knew Paul didn't have a stock blower on his truck?

No one has replied to this thread in 5 or 6 hours...
Has anyone bought parts from a vendor didn't get the gains he/she was told and now discovers that the reason may have to do with what is posted in this thread?

JDM's '99 Lightning had more trick pieces besides that blower Leanord, i.e. one-off ram air kit for Cervini hood, electric fan in one piece aluminum shroud, long tube headers, etc. Jim used that truck to showcase his fabrication and tuning skills back in '99 and also used it as an R & D vehicle. His '01 Lightning is the truck that uses off the shelf JDM parts to run the numbers it runs. No prototype parts on that truck.
And I don't see Paul on this site all that often bragging about what his truck is doing either. When racing at events those guys will tell you what they are running.
Besides, I think most people are influenced by the tuner's customers and the performance they gained rather than a tuner's claims of gains.

Anything can (and has) been done for the right price.
